“Visionary Landscapes” is a selection of Nicholas Bergery's photographic prints. With this work the artist has created panoramic landscapes; skylines of New York City, the Hamptons and Key West.   Nicholas photographs more than meets the eye in a single glance. He is moved by the juxtaposition of the physical earth and metaphysical sky and clouds. From up in the clouds and down to earth, these images search for paradises hidden in panoramic landscapes.
With his Key West images, he creates digital collages from his photographs of dense tropical jungles full of exotic and brilliantly colored flora and fauna found in tropical paradise, both real and imagined.   He superimposes his own images with appropriated Hieronymus Bosch's paintings as a way of depicting man and nature out of balance, man's indifference to war, and to preserving nature. As a Digital Impressionist, the fusion of photography and digital imaging enables the artist to create hybrid art that goes beyond the reproduction of reality to evoke emotions by means of a personal transformation of representational images.

Nick Bergery has exhibited his work in both New York and Florida galleries.   His studies at Parsons School of Design, New School for Social Research, and School of Visual Arts have formed a base of his photographic art.  For the Artist Bio, please contact the gallery.
